Valentine’s Day is a day that we enjoy celebrating as a family.  Don’t get me wrong, my hubby and I still go out another night too.  However with a house full of all boys, it can be challenge to get them excited for Valentine’s Day.  They are just not that into fluffy teddy bears or heart shaped boxes so I had to come up with a different plan.  I actually got the decorating idea for this ‘Love is a Battlefield’ dinner while making their Valentines for school.

Charcuterie boards are all the rage lately and can be made for just about any occasion that you can dream up.  A Valentine’s Day charcuterie board is super easy to make and great for the whole family.  We made up a board with all our boys’ favorite treats and sweets for them to enjoy after school on Valentine’s Day.  There was so much that we shared with family and friends too.  This would be great to take to a party or galentine’s event.

Valentine’s Day Decorating Ideas for Your Home

As Valentine’s Day draws near give your home some romantic touches.  For me, I never really celebrated this holiday much until I had kids.  After all the fun of Christmas, Valentine’s Day just felt empty like it needed something.  Plus I needed a way to chase away the winter blues.  Decorating with love of reds, pinks, and fresh flowers definitely did the trick.

I tend to lean toward more of a farmhouse style in my decor.  Although I must admit, it was harder to find items for this holiday than others.  So I searched more handmade options from sites like Etsy or from unique local stores.
