Paw Patrol Birthday Party With An Adopt A Pet Rescue

All paws on deck for my son’s 3rd birthday pawty!  We are all huge fans of Paw Patrol and even have matching outfits for the whole family.  We knew that this was going to be the theme of my littlest next birthday party months in advance.  Scrolling through the internet, I have seen these adopt a pet parties before and knew instantly that this would be a great addition to a Paw Patrol theme.

Like many times before, I told myself that I was going to tame it down some but — well it didn’t work again!  Instead it turned into a super fun party for the littles.  Are you ready to see more of this pup-tastic party?  Great let’s go.

DECORATIONS

Let’s talk decor.  As much as I love the store decorations, I can’t bring myself to plaster those ready to hang decorations everywhere.  Don’t get me wrong I still use some but sparingly.  I decided to go with a black and white paw print theme and add in splashes of bold colors like royal blue, red, and yellow.  All the printables were customized for the party from Ariadny at Once Upon A Party.    She was very easy to work with and made all my ideas come to life.  From the cake table to the printable signs, the paw print theme worked perfectly!

CAKE TABLE

The cake table should be renamed as the sugar rush table.  The backdrop was a printable that I found on Etsy and printed on vinyl at my local copy & print store.  Surrounding the backdrop, I used my new found love from a previous party of balloon tape.  The focal point of the table was the amazing cake made by my favorite place, Halls Takes the Cake.  I drove that cake home slower than I drove my newborns home from the hospital, ha!  The tower and the details were exactly how I envisioned them and so much more.  He was so excited about the cake.  My talented neighbor and friend from T’s Homemade Cookies made the Paw Patrol cookies that were pup-terrific.  For the rest of the sweets, the spread included bone shaped Rice Krispie treats dipped in choc and sprinkles, paw print cupcakes, sucker sticks, Poptique pupcorn, chocolate dipped pretzel fetch sticks, and paw print chocolate suckers.

ADOPT A PUP

This part was right up my alley.  I am a true animal lover and work in the animal health industry by day.  From the different breeds of dogs to the veterinarian check up, I totally geeked out on this.  The newly adopted puppy also made the perfect party favor for them to take home and enjoy long after the party was over.  Ready, set, rescue!

Station 1:  Rescue A Pup

The assorted stuffed animal dogs and the gable boxes used as houses were purchased from Amazon.  I surrounded them with landscaping wooden fence purchased from a local home improvement store on a green artificial turf.

Station 2:  Naming and Adoption Certificates

At this station, each kid chose a name for their new pet and added the name to their dog tags.  The dog tags were wooden and sized to fit a small dog.  Poppy Jack Shop from Etsy did a great job customizing these tags for me.  Each child then pledged to take care of their pet and sign an adoption certificate form BEENthinkingArt.

Station 3:  Grooming Station

Next up was time to get their new pet clean at the grooming station.  It was all planned to the last detail.  There were galvanized tubs with blue circle confetti,  dog brushes, grooming spray, towels made from paw print fleece, and a Melissa & Doug Wash & Trim Dog Groomer Play Set.

Station 4:  Decorate Your Pet House

Each child can decorate their puppy’s new home with foam stickers of various shapes and letters.  An assortment of markers were also available to personalize their home.

Station 5:  Pet Supply House

This is where my many trips to the Dollar Tree paid off.  I found collars, leashes, tennis balls, and bowls there.  The pet food was Reese’s Puffs cereal and the dog treats were Scooby-Doo snacks.  Each child also got a bone filled with bone shaped crayons, mini Paw Patrol Frisbees, and bandanas made from Paw Patrol fabric.

Station 6:  Pet Hospital

Last but not least was a veterinary check up at the pet hospital.  The supplies were from a Melissa and Doug Examine and Treat Pet Vet Play Set with Plush Dog and Cat.  To complete the vet visit, a mini clipboard was provided with a pet check up exam sheet to perform a physical exam of ears, eyes, nose, paws, heart, and tail plus treatments such as vaccinations.  They could also play the veterinarian by wearing a white doctor coat.

Mission complete for these heroes and they had everything they needed to take their new pup home!

FOOD

Who doesn’t love themed food?  Simply make new fun names for your kid’s favorite snacks and change the shapes to dog bones or paw prints then display it all using dog bowls. Voila!  The menu included Bone-whiches, Pup-corn. Paw-berries, Ruff-age, Puppy Chow, Fetch Sticks, Dog Treats, Puperoni Pizza, Paw-tato chips, Toliet Water, and H2O.  These adorable food labels came from The Party Printable Place on Etsy.

OTHER PAW PATROL ACTIVITIES

It was a very hot day so for added fun, we rented a Marshall bounce house and set up our water slide.

MATCHING FAMILY OUTFITS

Some people might roll their eyes, but matching outfits, shirts, and costumes are my jam.  For each birthday party, the birthday boy usually has a new t-shirt matching the theme of the party.  This adorable shirt was made by Autumn at The Shirt Traveler.  After the party, I pack them away for a keepsake.  We took it up a notch for this party because we already had outfits from a recent museum opening promotion.  We of course had to get them out again because they were so purr-fect and Lois from Made by Ya did an awesome job making all the kid’s vests.  For the adult vests, I purchased a hot pink Columbia one for me and an orange hunting one for my hubby then added Paw Patrol zipper pulls found on Etsy.  My Paw Skye googles and the shield patches on their hats were also purchased from an Etsy seller to complete the look.  Looking back on it, the shields should of been all grey to be correct but they still turned out great.

This Paw Patrol Party turned out paw-some!  It was so much fun putting it all together and even better watching all of his friends including the birthday boy enjoy it all.  I hope you find some inspiration for your next party.
